The Doors were the house band at Whisky a Go Go on the Sunset Strip in 1966 — the venue where Jim Morrison first performed The End in its full frightening glory, leading to the band's firing and legend.

Jim Morrison is buried at Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris — his grave is one of the most visited in the world, covered in flowers, graffiti and messages from fans who make a pilgrimage to honour the Lizard King.
